Dr. Hino visited our laboratory for collaborative experiments with Ogonuki-san. He analyzes chromosomes of spermatocyte-injected oocytes with multicolor FISH, which he originally developed for examination of the oocyte chromosome integrity.

A symposium co-organized by two Innovative Areas, “Ensuring integrity in gametogenesis” and “totipotency program”, was held as a hybrid meeting (on site: Tokyo University of Agriculture).

Mr. Keiji MOCHIDA won the JRD Outstanding Paper Award (2019). Mochida et al. “Early production of offspring by in vitro fertilization using first-wave spermatozoa from prepubertal male mice.” Dr. Helena Fulka also won the award and the certificate and auxiliary prizes were given to her in Czech. Fulka et al. ” Dissecting the role of the germinal vesicle nuclear envelope and soluble content in the process of somatic cell remodelling and reprogramming.”

Dr. Chen-Cheng Lee (Genomics Research Center, Academia Sinica, Taiwan) learned the technique of mouse nuclear transfer cloning. The first cloned mice in Taiwan will be born soon.
